The ECU's used in modern motorcycles are mass-produced in factory by the manufacturer with a 'stock' bin file. A stock bin file is generally useful for a wide range of riding conditions and often reduces the bike's performance to comply with local emission regulations. Tuning your bike involves writing a non-stock bin file to the ECU to achieve a specific goal in terms of performance, emissions, etc.
The first time that WRT software is used to write to a stock ECU, a bin file key is written into the ECU to allow the WRT software to recognise this ECU as having a valid license in the future. This is then no longer a stock ECU as it has been modified by the WRT software.
In rare circumstances such as after a failed write attempt, it may become necessary to return the ECU to the stock state, i.e. exactly as it was after production in the factory before having been written to by the WRT software. This process is detailed below.
NOTE: Following these instructions will permanently erase your bin file key.
Please do NOT proceed unless you have been advised to do so by a Woolich Racing Support Technician. If you use this feature without being advised to, we will not replace your bin file key and you will need to purchase a new one.
